Description: Port Authorities for the State of Western Australia. As originally declared under individual Port Authority Acts (7) and more recently declared under the Port Authorities Act 1999 (2). Derived from the Spatial Cadastral Database (SCDB) and based on GDA 94. Updated regularly when amendments/changes to boundaries are formalised, all of which are now gazetted under the Port Authorities Act 1999. This dataset uses the W_LAND_ADM_CUR_ALL_VIEW layer which identifies all polygons in the SCDB with a Port Authority usage code of 190.

Description: Western Australia uses an internationally recognised uniform coding system of navigation marks known as the IALA buoyage system A. Navigation marks are the equivalent of road signs on highways. Please contact the Department of Transport, 1 Essex Street, Fremantle WA 6160 or by emailing cdc@transport.wa.gov.au for more information.
Description: The Shipping and Pilotage Act 1967 (WA) governs shipping and pilotage in and about ports, boat harbours and mooring control areas of the State.
A total of 9 ports and 13 commercial port facilities have been declared under the Act.
Apart from Derby and Wyndham, these ports are generally single user facilities operated by resource companies with limited guidance from the State Government, other than safety controls. However, these ports are expected to be progressively brought under the jurisdiction of relevant port authorities, after July 2014.

Description: Spatial representation of coastline movements data for the Department of Transport (DoT) (WA). The Polylinefeature class contains line work that represent the position of the vegetation and generalised water lines for WA held by DoT. The dataset also includes lines that mark the extent of sand drift areas along the WA coast. This dataset has been captured using available imageryand photogrametical techniques. These Coastline Movement Lines are used by the Department of Transport, WA, to produce coastline movement drawings. These drawings and their associated data are used by coastal engineers to estimate horizontal setback datums used in coastal planning. The dataset is currently not available for download, however the vegetation lines for the years 1942 - 2009 may be viewed via WMS at the following link:The full dataset may be requested from the Department of Transport, 1 Essex Street, Fremantle WA 6160 or by emailing cdc@transport.wa.gov.au

Description: Spatial representation of Department of Transport (DoT) (WA) assets and other significant coastal infrastructure. The Polygons feature class contains coastal protection structures (seawalls, groynes, breakwaters), structures that facilitate access to the coast (car parks, wharves, jetties, boardwalks, boat ramps and associated amenity buildings). Dataset is limited to DoT assets and significant structures identifiable on currently available imagery.

Description: Sediment cells are spatially discrete areas of the coast within which marine and terrestrial landforms are likely to be connected through processes of sediment exchange, often described using sediment budgets. They include areas of sediment supply (sources), sediment loss (sinks), and the sediment transport processes linking them (pathways). Sediment transport pathways include both alongshore and cross-shore processes, and therefore cells are best represented in two-dimensions. They are natural management units with a physical basis and commonly cross jurisdictional boundaries. catalogue.beta.data.wa.gov.au/dataset/primary-cell-boundary-point

Description: Coastal compartments are structural features relating to geological features and landforms that can be used to provide a framework for planning and management of the coastine. The primary compartment boundaries for WA were determined by identifying major changes in rock type along the coast and changes in shoreline orientation, while incorporating complete landforms of coastal significance. The primary compartments have then been subdivided to produce secondary and tertiary compartments. This dataset was commissioned by the Department of Planning and compiled by Damara Pty Ltd and the Geological Society of WA. A full report was also prepared to accompany the dataset , published August 2011. Some superficial changes have been made to the dataset since publication of the report in order to amalgamate the data into a nationwide compartment dataset developed by Geoscience Australia.
